Xiao Jie, also known as Small Joint, is on the palmar side of the hand on the Lung channel. This point is located at the junction of the 1st metacarpal bone and the distal phalangeal segment of the thumb (the MCP joint) right where the skin changes colors or textures from back of the hand to palm.
Needle this point by angling the needle from the thumb joint and aiming toward PC 7. Use a 1.5 cun needle, do your initial insert, then tent the skin up and glide the needle superficially toward PC 7.
